one of my friends who is a ms told me today that the elders have 'marked' me because i'm a reg.pioneer and i've decided to go to college next semester???!
he said he can't tell me anymore but to be careful---what the hell does 'mark' mean?
Or tell them that you are looking forward to being able to reach out to young folks with the message that would otherwise not get it
I like the reasoning, but in line of the control they think they have, it is them telling you where to preach, not you writing your own ticket.

there's a funny story that's circulated among engineering types about a young vp at arco.
he saw an inordinate amount of 'boiler operators' on the payroll and noticed that they made an inordinate amount of money.
he decided that he would save the company a bunch of money by out-sourcing the building maintenance.

Mark them for sticking their noses in your private business. Send them the tuition bill and tell them that they have a say on the matter when they pay it.

there is a growing trend that employment interviewers are asking for facebook profile with login password.. they are looking into everything you post.. there is no law in the books to prevent this!.

In addition of having all your stuff out there, there is much deeper data minig possible, where your browsing trends (and locations you did it from), your behavior or reaction to ceratin news and a host of other parameters are meticulously logged. Without your knowledge or even idea for what they may be used one day.
And while most people can innocently raise some virtual animal stock, the implications of their interaction with "friends" are way more valuable than the few dollars people spend on being the perfect useless farmer.

i am replacing my hvac system, considering 2 options .
1) heat pump coupled with a 80% efficiency furnace for when it drops below 20f .
2) a 95% high efficiency furnace with a traditional 15 seer a/c unit.. anyone here work in this field or replace their system recently?
Stealth, if you do go with water ground loop, look into having a heat exchanger for the water heater supply. In the summer, when heat is "pumped out" of the house, it can preheat the water entering the water heater. Talk about efficiency...

there wasn't anything particularly new but the tone toward porn, higher ed, bad assoc, "habitual" murmuring and harmful gossip is definitely hardening, as are the cautions against social networking.
Why the hell would any "apostate" want to entrap, kidnap or otherwise gather "followers"?
The underlying message is re: one's family still stuck in the cult. Very cunnig way to describe the very people trying to help their loved ones to get out.
Another clever way of saying "Stay away from disfellowshipped and anything apostate"....
